We share evidence-based K-12 learning strategies that empower you to improve education.
I would certainly allow local administrators, teachers, and parents as equals to decide how best to spend the money. Once the city, state and national governments plays a hand a "one-size-fits-all" bandage is placed, and the students never seem to benefit. I would never want to be a politician, but they need to begin to see that each school system is different. They shouldn't be telling us what needs to be fixed; we, as a team, should be telling them.
You're lucky your superintendent is making so little!! OURS in the Central Valley of California, district of 30,000 students is making $230,000!!!! Yes you read it correctly almost a quarter of a million dollars!! Yes, more than the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court!!
Research and adoption of "best practices"--proven methods of instruction, encouraging parent support, using technology effectively, and, most importantly, motivating today's students to become enthusistic learners.
I teach in a Catholic Middle-School with ISTEPS at 90.3% passing over the past two years. While I could use a pay raise and more professional development, money will never replace what parents emphasis at home. We are successful because of the role of our parents, dedicated teachers, and students who come to class ready to learn. The earlier we start to educate children through head start and Title One, the better. Money will never replace an absent parent,
or a teacher who cannot teach.
Please see www.wfs.org/albright07.htm for the final Wurld Languege. An instruction book and a 502 page Albright's Wurld Fonetik Dikshunare has been written. It has a great secret of providing pronunciation marks within the letters of words. It fantastically enhances learning because the words are the same whether seen or said. One says what one sees.
Too much money is being spent on testing students. Test scores are not the absolute measure of what students are capable of doing. Research shows that reducing class size is an effective way to increase student achievement. We are spending billions of dollars on testing. We are testing Kindergarten, first, second, third, and fourth graders. These students are just learning to read. What we need to do is take the money out of the hands of big testing companies and use it to reduce class size.

It's great secret is a new method of rendering pronunciation marks that
are embedded within the letters. (No diacritical marks) The words are
the same to see and say - such as vakashun.
A beginning Instruction book and a 502 clustered dikshunare page has been
printed and ready for publication.

It is virtually unbelieveable to behold.
The money should be used to upgrade the technology capacity in all schools and bring one-to-one computing to all classroom. We need to get our schools out of the 19th century and into the 21st century.
To extend the experiment now being carried out in British schools.
Five British schools have introduced Esperanto in order to test its propaedeutic values. The pilot project is being monitored by the University of Manchester and the initial encouraging results can be seen at http://www.springboard2languages.org/Summary%20of%20evaluation,%20S2L%20...
