Fantastic Poetry Slam Inspires Me

Thanks for the great article about the poetry slam. It's inspiring to see what these students are doing with their passion combined with their skills. Thank you Global Writes.
This is a great image, and should have been on the cover.

Great work,
Eric Kollin

I was told momma had all the answers

Incredible poetry! Thank you for sharing your heart, your life, your message. We have kids who believe the same thing that their parents know the answers, but don't give them at the right time, don't fully give the time and attention to the answer, or who don't even communicate with their children to know the questions being asked. Growing up is tough, even in the best of situations. This is a great video that should be shared with parents across the nation. Thank you,

Wonderful passion!

It Starts So Early

Thank you for this Jesica. For being brave, and sharing yourself. I admire your talent. Keep spreading your words. They are beautiful. You are beautiful.

As a Mother of a 6 year old, I cringe when I hear my thoughts said out loud. "I'm getting so fat." and
"Oh my God, look at my legs. They are riddled with fat." My daughter listens to everything I say, and somehow these thoughts are so insistent that I say them out loud at times, maybe out of habit. I don't want her to feel insecure about her body. We are all going to get old at one point so to dread the loss of a young figure is pointless.
Jesica, you reminded me that my body image could become my daughter's or my student's image. I need to keep these thoughts to myself, or better yet, not at all.

Hope

Painful and honest and beautiful and... wow. If Jesica is our future then our future is surely bright. The world needs more voices like hers. Thanks for bringing this to us.

And if Jesica reads this page, I just want to say to you: YOU, my dear, are a Phenomenal Woman.

Jessica:

You define the beauty of womanhood past, present and future. Turn the TV off and your mirror on. I have a daughter who look just like you and and now she's a mother and wife and yes like you loved for who she is. My wife and mother both look and feel like you and there is nothing more elegant, strong and wonderful then the young woman you are and the undeniable woman in the future before you.
