Sleep in America poll 2006, the National Sleep Foundation
Percentage of high school students who fall asleep in school at least once a week. Forty-five percent of adolescents ages 11-17 sleep less than eight hours on school nights. Twelfth graders, in particular, sleep an average of 6.9 hours, about two hours short of the recommended nine or more. Fifty-one percent of adolescents say they feel too sleepy during the day.
