Edutopia’s Educational Documentaries Available for Free Download Now
Award-Winning Educational Videos available on iTunes U
San Rafael, California (September 16, 2008) -- Edutopia is proud to announce that we are now offering free downloadable video content on iTunes U, a dedicated area of the iTunes Store featuring free education audio and video. With Edutopia on iTunes U, you can instantly download Edutopia's Core Concept documentary videos highlighting public school innovations in project learning, technology integration, teacher development, social and emotional learning, assessment, and integrated studies. A selection of more than seventy-five videos from our archives is available now, with more to come soon.
Teachers, administrators, and educational leaders can incorporate targeted documentaries direct from Edutopia.org into classroom presentations, teacher-development programs, and community-awareness campaigns. For example,
- introduce students to A Night in the Global Village: Role-Playing Life in Poverty, which provides middle school students firsthand experience with living conditions typical of developing countries.
- present teachers with The Edible Schoolyard: Seed-to-Table Learning, about a curriculum-based gardening program that connects students not only with the Earth but also with the value of hard work and interdependence.
- enlighten community leaders and parents through Grading with Games: An Interview with James Paul Gee, which explores how the inclusion of video games provide a bright future in the learning process, in and out of school.
Until now, Edutopia's videos have been available for viewing only on Edutopia.org and by purchasing a DVD. But now you can easily view and download these inspiring documentaries anytime, free, through iTunes U in the iTunes Store and through Edutopia.org at edutopia.org/itunes.
