PBL in WL Workshops coming this summer!!

Don Doehla, MA, NBCT Co-Director East Bay WL Project at UC Berkeley Language Center

Dear WL friends - I have very exciting news for us. This summer, there will be a couple of opportunities for us to work together in developing curriculum for PBL in WL! I am very excited about this, and I hope you are as well. In WL PBL is rather a pioneering work, I think.

The first will be held in Napa, California (my home town) at the PBL World Conference, June 18-22. Our friends at Edutopia and at BIE will be involved in putting this together, including my friend and colleague Lauren Scheller, a French teacher who now works at BIE. You can follow the developments on Twitter at this hastag: #pblworld There is also a website at:

http://www.pblworld.org/

Lauren will be offering 2 days for WL teachers specifically. I hope to lend a hand as I can! This will be a great opportunity to connect.

The second opportunity will be at the CLTA Summer Seminar at UC Santa Barbara, July 22-24. This one is still in the planning stages, but I want you to save the dates in case you are interested! I will be leading this session, and look forward to the time with my WL colleagues in beautiful Santa Barbara.

I will keep you posted on these and other opportunities as I hear of them.

All the best,
Don
