Math sites

8 Replies 464 Views

At our school today we had a meeting regarding our math. Our math coach shared some really great sites with us. Here are some: http://www.mathwire.com/whohas/whohas.html http://www.vrml.k12.la.us/cc/math/factppt/mult/mulFactpage.htm These have a lot of neat things to use in the classroom. There are games that you can print with different math concepts. Does anyone else have any math sites that have found useful in the classroom? email me: jennifer.brayard@waldenu.edu

Jennifer,

Thanks for the sites! I am always looking for good math material. I teach eighth grade math and algebra but here is a site that would also work for you:

http://illuminations.nctm.org/

Choose lessons or activites depending on what you are looking for and then you can choose your grade level. Hope you find something useful.

I would love to have my middle school math teachers visit some schools that feel they have math programs that are "beyond the text," i.e. hands-on, fun, interactive/collaborative, noisy, project/activity rich, etc. We are in the Philadelphia area...do you work at a school that would fit the bill for a visit?

Great sites! I will be using some of these in my future classroom in math centers. How do you use these websites in your classrooms? I am a PST teachers, and I would really like to know your ideas!
