I'm looking for a replacement for Little Bird Tales (www.littlebirdtales.com), which I have been using with my K & 1 classes for the past couple of years. I loved this program until the last few weeks, when the developer decided to "improve" it. Now it is much too reading-intensive and complicated for my little students. I've discussed it with him at length, and I think he may have had a different target audience in mind when he made the changes.

Here's what I'm looking for: A program that allows the children to draw their own pictures, write captions and record themselves talking about the picture or telling a story. It can have multiple pages. When published, I'd like it to create a class page with all the kids' projects so I can direct parents to the link online.

Can any one suggest a good substitute? Unfortunately we have a limited collection of iPads, so it needs to be computer-based. Thanks!

I know you said that iPads are in limited supply, but if you have even one or two around, you should absolutely check out Book Creator for iPad, one of my absolute favorite apps which allows you to do everything you mentioned above.

Thanks Dan. I will definitely look into Book Creator. I'm familiar with voice thread, but the drawing piece is really key for my very young students.
