Are your kids talking about unions, power and protests?

Christy Crawford

What happened to current events???? Are teachers worried they are crossing the line talking about protests in Wisconsin? I've gotten some flack from teachers who think linking the myriad protests around the world with the attack on unions is inappropriate. See http://blogs.scholastic.com/top_teaching/2011/03/ready-set-revolution-.h...

What are you doing in your classroom? Are you blogging or tweeting about revolution??

We definitely believe teachers should take advantage of current events in Wisconsin and in other states to teach about labor history and worker struggles. We have created a special page with several resources from our Zinn Education Project website as well as others we have found. Check it out here: http://rethinkingschools.org/news/WIProtestTeachingResources.shtml
