Does anyone know of a really good replacement for the Ning network? Since they changed to charging huge membership fees for the type of site I need to run (video upload and audio only runs in Pro version), I am looking for something that has the same features but is much cheaper. Pearson is paying the bill for the basic service which is wonderful but it is very basic. I teach Communications Technology so posting audio and video files is a must.

Like so many other teachers I had created several Ning accounts for my classes and now they are all gone because of the cost. I am trying out Edmoto. The interface looks a lot like Facebook and it's free for educators. It may meet your needs. www.edmoto.com

I got Edmodo working and it does a great job of allowing all my files to post under one assignment.
