I found this website today through my real life job (not that being on a Board of Ed isn't a full time job itself ;-). I sell video editing and production tools and one of the websites I deal with mentioned this site as an example of video streaming and how it can be used. I'm not affiliated with the Khan academy in any way. So far I've only watch a few of the videos, but I'm impressed. I'll have my 9th grade son start watching them and see how it helps him in Geometry and Bio. The main website has better navigation to specific content areas then the YouTube page. http://www.khanacademy.org/ The Khan Academy is a not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing a high quality education to anyone, anywhere. We have 1000+ videos on YouTube covering everything from basic arithmetic and algebra to differential equations, physics, chemistry, biology and finance which have been recorded by Salman Khan. The Khan Academy and Salman Khan have received a 2009 Tech Award in Education. The Tech Awards is an international awards program that honors innovators from around the world who are applying technology to benefit humanity. To keep abreast of new videos as we add them, subscribe to the Khan Academy channel on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/khanacademy Gary

Thought you might like to see the video we just published, an interview with Salman Khan, founder of Khan Academy:

Big Thinkers: Salman Khan on Liberating the Classroom for Creativity

In it he discusses how his videos can help create a "flipped classroom" that allows blended learning, so online lectures can happen at home and project-based learning can happen during school. He also sheds a new light on criticisms and reveals some interesting future plans.

Enjoy!
