WHAT WORKS IN EDUCATION The George Lucas Educational Foundation

I'm doing a lot of work with 3D immersive learning environments in science education. My current project, ComputeSpace (www.computespace.net), is a K-12 astronomy education application geared for rural education and delivered via the Internet. ComputeSpace, like a lot of other immersive education projects, is based on Sun Microsystem's Wonderland 3D environment and now that Sun has been eaten by Oracle it's been announced that funding for further development will be terminated. I've joined a new site dedicated to this and other "orphaned" sun projects. Many of the scienrtists and engineers have been invited to join as well as educational users of the technology. If you're interested, here's a URL to the site: http://sunorphans.ning.com
