I saw her speak @ the Learning and the Brain conference last week - (learningandthebrain.com), I LOVE her explanation of how stress reduces the ability for humans to learn and - by extension - how all the pressure around testing is compounding the problem. Refreshingly, she also offers some wonderful solutions, specifically creating curiosity and inviting students to predict outcomes (which increases their interest and recollection).
