Root Words

0 Replies 103 Views
I gave my Stillwater, Oklahoma high school students weekly quizzes over Greek and Latin root words, to help them understand the meanings of various scientific terms. One week in anatomy we had the suffix '-oma' and we were discussing its definition, citing a few examples---glaucoma, sarcoma, etc. One student sat listening to several examples and then excitedly added "Oklahoma!" to the list.
