I used Scratch for the first time with my students this year. I just stumbled across Tynker. Does anyone have experience with both to give some insight on the comparisons between the two? I was also excited to find Hopscotch and Daisy the Dinosaur for a good intro for my younger students. I teacher K-8 computer/technology.

Hi Deb,

In short, Tynker was inspired by Scratch but after hearing from many educators and students, we realized that kids needed a more scaffolded approach to learning and teachers needed the tools to provide a rich and engaging environment with Class management tools, curriculum and student metrics.

For more information regarding Tynker and how it is being used, please check out our blog: tynker.com/blog

I'd also be more than happy to answer any questions that you might have, kelgan(at)tynker(dot)com.

Best,
Kevin
