CTEq launches iON Future On November 20 at 10 a.m. PST, Change the Equation (CTEq) is hosting a webcast to launch iON Future, a suite of free online learning games to introduce youth, middle to early high school age, to a variety of STEM-based professions. CTEq is looking for teacher ambassadors who would like to participate with their students in the webcast event, broadcasting from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA. CTEq hopes teachers see this as a valuable, yet different, way to capture youth’s attention in this time leading up to the Thanksgiving holiday! This one-pager details what is anticipated to be a high-energy event. It will be a 35-minute webcast, which takes students on virtual tours of STEM in action, and challenges them to think from a STEM perspective. Ultimately, it introduces them to iON Future. Interested teachers can tune in here Nov. 20 at 1 p.m EST/10 a.m. PST. Before the official launch, games can be previewed using the beta version through Nov. 19. To explore the beta version: Please choose the option to play as a guest. During this beta period, Career Quest, one of the games, will have one profession to explore, but at launch more careers will be featured. [A by-product of Sandy as the loss of power closed our NY-based game developer for several days.] Access the beta version of the facilitator guide that accompanies iON Future in the classroom.
