inclusion and beyond
I work at a K-8 charter school where the special education students are in general ed. classes and the special ed. teachers drop into those classes to provide in-class support. It has been very difficult to co-plan and modify work. Many of our students are several grade levels behind and not making progress. We are now in the process of restructuring the special ed. program to provide a continuum of services. Some students will continue to receive in class support while others will be pulled out for remedial math, reading or writing. Does anybody know of some good books/resources to help guide us as we make this transition?
