Teaching can be very draining, teaching special education doubly so. What do you do over the summer to renew your energy and spirit? Do you have any special plans?
I use my summer to read books; all I have time for during the school year are articles. Most of the books are related to work, but I always read at least one novel (I'm looking for suggestions of one for this summer).
I also teach a course at a college catering to adults over the summer, this year on Violence in America. It is a good experience to teach people who actually want to be in school.
This year I'm traveling to Santa Fe, New Mexico, somewhere I've never been but have been planning to retire to for several years (totally irrational, I know).
What are your plans?
