What are you doing in your classroom, department, school and district to prepare for CCSS?
The district I just left had all the teachers come together and create curriculum and pacing guides for all subjects in 5 PD days. For my classroom, I've started to integrate more reading and writing into my classes and to cross collaborate with other teachers more.
ASCD is offering some (free) helpful webinars--I attended one a couple of weeks ago, and found it very insightful. : )
We have had a lot of meetings. I've recently completed a pproject where I've rewritten many texts for middle and high school students tower it easier to adjust to the common core. If you're interested, check out the site at www.adaptedhistory.com.
At the elementary level, we've introduced a new nonfiction writing program which is supposed to tie in tightly with our science and social studies curricula.
