Introductions!

Hi! I just joined this group today. Wanted to introduce myself.

I am Nathan Smith. A former elementary school teacher, I now am Director of Technology for the College of Education & Human Services at Utah State University. Within that role, I also am Director of the Adele & Dale Young Education Technology Center, and the NASA Educator Resource Center for Utah.

I am an architect and am currently involved in several secondary projects with differing levels of STEM development from a program/curriculum perspective- I am passionate about inter-disciplinary learning but also appreciate the reality that deep inter-disciplinary learning depends on strong disciplinary understanding- aim also an advocate of the potential addition of various aspects of the arts as a way of strengthening creativity within STEM (this would be called STEAM) - let me know your thoughts- thank you

Hello. I have taught high school mathematics for the past twelve years at a small rural school in Northern CA. I am interested in integrating more technology into my curriculum and look forward to participating in this group!

Hello, I have been working as a software developer for over 20 years, have been in the Navy, and have been running a science and engineering summer camp and after school program for the past 8 years.
My business partner and I have turned the summer camp/after school program into a non-profit organization (Robotics And Beyond Inc.) in 2007 and have really begun to turn it into a thriving corporation.
We're looking forward to the 21st century!

I'm currently in a one year intensive Master program and student teaching at the High School level. Today was actually my first day in taking over the Physical Science class under my highly capable Mentor teacher.
Joining this group was actually required by my Ed Tech course but I'm looking forward to learning from the multiple discussions here.
I'm currently struggling with my Oceanography students. They are Juniors and Seniors that are really difficult to get motivated.

I began teaching many years ago in elementary school. I moved into ICT in high school in the mid 90s. The last ten years I've taught elementary again specializing in maths and some technology in middle school. Here there is very little information on STEM education, so I'm hoping to learn something here.
