President Obama will be giving his annual back-to-school address next Tuesday (The 14th). I remember last year's speech vividly. It was the first time I'd felt so much hope in a very long time.

They've not announced the theme or location yet.

I would imagine he'll tout the successes of the Race to the Top winners, and maybe give us some details on what's working there. I would also guess he'll continue his emphasis on 21st century skills in our ever-changing economy.

Is there anything you hope he addresses? Anything you think he should address, but won't?

In case you didn't see last year's speech, you can view it on YouTube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ZZ6GrzWkw0.

Here's some information on Obama's 2010 Back-to-School speech: http://www.whitehouse.gov/back-to-school

Here are also a couple of blog posts we did about Obama's 2009 speech:

What are you plans for tomorrow's speech? Do you plan to watch it in your class or at an assembly?

Yes! I am hoping to have my students pull out at least 1 comment that resonates with them. Then I want them to build off of that!
