I want to teach the students a real life way to use fractions with cooking recipes. I also want them to convert the recipe so they can use the skill of adding fractions. Has anyone done something similar to this? I'm looking for ideas as to how to get it started, make a rubric, and wondering whether to make it an in class or home project. Thanks!

I have been doing recipes with my kids to teach measurement but I can see easily how I can move to fractions from what you've done. How can I get your templates?

Jayne - the Recipe Project is exactly what I am looking for. Any chance you still have the project and templets?

I like to have parents bring in electic skillets and the kids each bring in an item for No Bake Cookies. The kids get to practice measurements and fractions. Dividing up the cookies evenly once they are cooled adds more math into the mix.
