Hi, I'm from a small town in central Maine. The town is changing as the mills have closed and the population shifts. To celebrate the changes, my 5th grade literacy classroom is studying our ancestry in hopes of better understanding each other and to celebrate the unique cultures we share. We plan to paint symbols and words to represent our cultures/customs onto a movable mural/wall and display it downtown then in our schoolyard. I am looking for ideas, resources, literacy connections. Any tips, suggestions, words of wisdom? Thanks! Mary
