I am trying to brainstorm a way to bring my first major PBL Project into my classroom this winter. Some students in my school have been hit hard with the loss of family members who have been deployed into the war. I want to have my students investigate some history behind the war and understand the circumstances the soldiers are involved in. I want my students to compose a letter and write to a soldier and possibly send out care packages around Christmas. Any thoughts of how I can make this a PBL Project? Am I way off base with this? Any advice would be helpful! I am a first year teacher and really want to come up with a meaningful learning experience for my students! Thanks!
