I have always incorporated independent and cooperated based projects in my class. After reading an article on project based learning, I began to use it more in my classroom. However, I have never been to a training on project based learning or read more comprehensive articles or books about it. I'm not completely sure if I am structuring it correctly. Does anyone have suggested reading for me, so that I can feel more confident in using this strategy in my classroom?

Hi Karin,
You'll find a wealth of resources to help guide you through all phases of PBL. For background, you might start by clicking the "Core Strategies" tab at the top of this page and exploring the PBL resources there. "Project-Based Learning in Maine" is a great collection of PBL videos and resources (http://www.edutopia.org/stw-maine-pbl). And the Buck Institute for Education offers extensive support. You might start with the self-guided PBL tutorial (http://www.bie.org/diy) or use their online project search to investigate project ideas.
Please let us know if you have specific questions as you dig deeper into PBL--it's a big (wonderful) topic!
