Arts Integration Academy -- AMAZING continuing education & PD opportunity
Learn Arts Integration from the professionals who pioneered the nationally recognized OMA Program.
Opening Minds through the Arts (OMA) Foundation presents the 2010 OMA Gold Arts Integration Academy (AIA). Four intensive days of learning and practice for classroom teachers, teaching artists, arts specialists, administrators, and school teams.
----- ARTS INTEGRATION ACADEMY -----
Gain an understanding of arts integration and the collaboration that makes it work...and each day, practice the model that transforms student achievement.
For each instructional role in integration the AIA provides you will:
1. Explore the structure of arts integration.
2. Define roles, responsibilities, and creative opportunities for the roles mentioned above.
3. Understand the processes, tools, and management system to build a truly integrated curriculum that transforms your school and community.
4. Design and practice a team-driven integrated project.

More about OMA......If you're looking for a way to transform your school, boost student achievement, and energize educators, OMA is the answer! Opening MInds Through the Arts (OMA) is a nationally recognized, research-based student achievement program that integrates the arts into reading, writing, math, science and social studies lessons in elementary and middle schools (with high school programs to come!). We have been recognized by Edutopia, and picked as a 2009 Staff Picks review: http://www.edutopia.org/content-edutopia-staff-picks-2009
Edutopia also did a short documentary of the OMA Program in action:
OMA is opening up our professional development sessions to the public this summer. Our Arts Integration Academy is truly a transformative experience. Sessions are filling up quickly at www.omafoundation.org/aia
Please email me if you have any questions about how OMA could revolutionize your school.
