I gave a presentation this past weekend in North carolina to a group of dynamic librarians, about how to fill their digital toolbox. I've posted the handouts and slides over on our blog: http://differentiatedinstruction.co/2013/02/04/using-digital-tools-to-en... I hope you might find these tools useful as well. What are your favorite digital tools to help engage kids and let each demonstrate their mastery of the lessons and subject matter? Do you use any of the ones i suggest, and what's been your experience?

Hi Whitney,

I'm an early elementary school teacher as well as a part-time project manager for a start up called Actively Learn, and we're developing a digital e-reader that helps engage students while reading, and allows them to answer questions within the text to demonstrate mastery. You should definitely check us out at www.activelylearn.com! The student and teacher response has been overwhelming so far!

Best,
Joe

New predictive analytics solutions, such as those offered by Longleaf Solutions, are an important development that make it quick and easy for educators to match individual student needs with instructional resources and create personal success plans. Without this type of tool, it is nearly impossible in today's learning environment to scale up personalized instruction.
