I am really looking to use my 20 years in online learning to help a school district. I would be happy to help out in evaluating online programs, setting up your online strategy for a district, co-teaching, or even helping a teacher move over to the online world. (How do you keep students engaged.) Here's a little bit bout my background. Drop me an email at "mail (at)lindaenglish . com" and let's chat about how I can help you. Just want to give back and feel like I could really help out in Education. Credentials: From 2003 until just recently, I was the Director of Member Services for LINGOs, a nonprofit, that builds online universities for NGOs. I founded and grew the organization in 6 years to deploying online universities in 40 major NGOs (Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity, CARE, Oxfam, The Nature Conservancy, World Vision etc.) utilizing donated software and online courses from 20 for-profit organizations, and providing 2,000 completed online courses a month to employees of NGOs. (CARE International projected LINGOs saved the organization over $100,000 in one year.) Before LINGOs, I was the eLearning Manager at Save the Children deploying an online university for all employees of the organization. And I worked at Microsoft Corporation for 10 years, implementing numerous training solutions for customers, sales professionals, programmers, and systems engineers. This included designing a certification program for sales representatives and managing Microsoft’s training partners for Europe, Middle East and Africa (which represented 4% of Microsoft’s revenue for the region). Also, as editor of two of Microsoft’s major websites (resellers and small businesses), I designed and implemented numerous social media approaches to building communities with these customer bases. I have also volunteered in a middle school robotics program and as an assistant coach in a high school cross country ski team. I speak Spanish at a conversational level. Education: Completed all coursework for a Master’s degree in International Development from School for International Training. Master’s Degree: Instructional Design, Development and Evaluation from Syracuse University with Emphasis in utilization of artificial intelligence in learning. Bachelor of Science in Technical Communications from Florida Tech. Awards: In 2009, Microsoft Alumni Foundation nominated me as one of 4 finalist(out of 150 applicants) for the first-ever Integral Fellow Award. In 2009, the Masie Center (a think tank for learning in the for-profit industry) recognized me as a Thought Leader in Learning for promoting the use of technology in global non-profits.
