The first years of practice can be a time of great hope and exhilaration -- and fatigue and anxiety. This group is designed to allow new teachers and veterans alike to connect and share that sense of community that is so important in the first years.

2011 Edublogs Awards: #ntchat made the shortlist! #eddies11

Lisa Michelle Dabbs Edu Consultant. Blogger & Social Media Marketing at Edutopia

I am excited to share some fun information with all of you and it’s in reference to the 2011 Edublog Awards! This is an annual event highlighting the best in the Edublogosphere and Twitterverse.

I am both humbled and thrilled that the hashtag that I founded for New Teacher Chat and for the purpose of beginning an ongoing sharing of support and resources for new and pre-service teachers on twitter, #ntchat has made the shortlist for Best Educational Hashtag. http://edublogawards.com/2011-3/best-twitter-hashtag-2011/

It is truly an honor to be nominated and I am so appreciative for this belief in what a hashtag can do to change the world!

I hope you will head over to the Edublogs Awards Voting site to vote (not just) for our #ntchat hashtag but for all the other wonderful hard-working educators who care enough to consistently collaborate and share content.

As someone who is passionate about supporting and mentoring new teachers it’s exciting to see new bloggers, blogs and resources that have been nominated for the #eddies11!

As you check out the Edublog Award site, be sure to share this great opportunity to celebrate each other and our great educational accomplishments with your friends and colleagues!

Cheers!
~L
