There is a lot of personal rewards for being a teacher. I think the best thing is watching students develop over the school year. I also enjoy just being around the kids and listening to their fantasy filled ideas and dreams. Though the salary is not the greatest, I've found a way to survive a teacher's salary...using all the discounts that are available to us. I've been teaching 2 years and just found out about the many discounts that are out there for us. I have created a website that lists year-round discounts. Please check it out at http://www.totallyteacher.com. If you know of other discounts that aren't mentioned, please let me know so that I can upload them to the site. If you can think of new ones you'd like, let me know too.

Thank you so much for your welcome and invite. I am very much looking forward to joining you. I am always looking for different ways to improve my teaching style and routines. I am a bilingual teacher so I would like to find out a few more ways to get my hands on more spanish materials for my students. Believe it or not, it is harder to come by than I thought. So if anyone has ideas, websites or anything they can share that is in spanish for elementary students I sure would welcome it! And again, thank you Lisa! = )

Ms. Cardenas,

Welcome to the Edutopia community! I have taught Spanish as a second language in the elementary grades and am ESL certified- so I have gathered quite a few online materials, lessons, activities, and worksheets you can look at. Feel free to check out the following. I hope they help. Please let me know if you need anything!
