The first years of practice can be a time of great hope and exhilaration -- and fatigue and anxiety. This group is designed to allow new teachers and veterans alike to connect and share that sense of community that is so important in the first years.

Welcome to New Teacher Connections!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to New Teacher Connections. This great group was started last October under the "Bridges" name. Now as "New Teacher Connections" we are excited to take it to the next level. I'm excited to be working with you!

Here at New Teacher Connections, I want to create a Personal Learning Network (PLN) with a lively exchange of ideas, insights and resources that will support you in the beginning stages of the teaching experience.

These are challenging times for educators. Often the effect on new teachers is felt more deeply. I'm hoping that you will join us here to network, collaborate and get the support you need in these first years of practice.

From time to time I'll be posting questions and have "guest" posts from my PLN, to get the conversation going. Always feel free to jump in with your own topics thoughts, ideas, questions. When you do...I hope you will find just what you need from colleagues here and from the many resources Edutopia has to offer.

We are also looking to start a New Teacher Chat on stay tuned!

Here's to our journey and new connections!
