Hi all - In an effort to eliminate study halls, I am going to try an independent study elective for our students not taking band or choir. In raw form, my idea is to work with individual 7th and 8th grade students in creating a 'learning plan' with a big question to guide them. Over the course of a semester, they will check in with an advisor once a week to discuss their progress with some type of presentation at the end of the semester as their assessment. My hope is that students will follow a passion as they will ultimately make all of the decisions. Any ideas, words of wisdom, etc? Thanks!
