Librarians, Gunn LIbrary in Palo Alto, CA is hosting an online STEM video competition called STEM Slam. Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to create short, funny or entertaining videos demonstrating how they can use a STEM skill in their lives. The winning student and sponsoring teacher will both win an iPad2. See http://www.stemslam.com for details, rules and resources. The deadline is June 2, 2011. This is not only a fun and engaging culminating activity for your teachers, but a tremendous opportunity to showcase the user-generated content of our communities and teach about using copyright friendly media.
