Librarians, Gunn LIbrary in Palo Alto, CA is hosting an online STEM video competition called STEM Slam. Students in grades K-12 are encouraged to create short, funny or entertaining videos demonstrating how they can use a STEM skill in their lives. The winning student and sponsoring teacher will both win an iPad2. See for details, rules and resources. The deadline is June 2, 2011. This is not only a fun and engaging culminating activity for your teachers, but a tremendous opportunity to showcase the user-generated content of our communities and teach about using copyright friendly media.
