Battling Childhood Obesity during Halloween
0
Halloween is approaching and I was wondering how many educators out there are using this week as an opportunity to teach students healthy eating habits and encourage physical exercise?
I've heard from many teachers that are using this week to explore fun Halloween-inspired science projects in an effort to make this holiday a teachable moment but none that are using it to help battle childhood obesity. Anybody out there?
PS: Here's a great article on childhood obesity and what schools are doing to combat it: "Fighting for Fitness: Educational Institutions Step into the Ring."
