It’s almost Teacher Appreciation Week (5/3-5/7), and what better way to celebrate than sharing stories about those teachers who blew our minds when WE were students? Now, to clarify here, we’re not just seeking stories about any teacher. No, these are the ones who were the most intense, passionate, and . . . dare I say . . . a little wacky in their teaching methodologies! For instance, maybe you had a humanities teacher who leapt around the classroom in character as Othello while he murders Desdemona. Or perhaps there was a chemistry teacher who made students do an interpretive dance throughout the lab to teach the concept of valence electrons. These are the ones we want to hear about! And, to celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week, we’ll be giving away $10 iTunes gift cards to 20 lucky story-tellers. So let’s hear yours! Deadline is May 7 at midnight PDT.

Mr. Friberg was the greatest music teacher. He related to the students and did his best to keep us interested in music and in school. We had a Cabaret Night in which any students in the school could come and share their talents in music. My friends and I decided to play a big band tune for the show. Mr. Friberg was an accomplished trumpet player and had a great little jazz trio he played in. We asked him if he would put together a short solo for our song and he put together something small for us. The night of the performance we started playing as he sat on the side of the stage where he always did. when his solo came, eh pulled out his trumpet came out in front and stole the show. The applause was amazing. He was a favorite of many students and would do what he could for us as students. Thank you Mr. Friberg.

My current 8th grade Algebra teacger, Mr.Flint, is the craziest teacher I have ever had. He has the most indsane teaching methods. He gets right up in your face and puts soo mych pressure on you, but its all outa of his love for teaching. He also is a die hard Red Sox fan and tries to incorporate baseball in his lessons each day. Mr flint is the heart of my school and hopefully he will bre for many, many more years to come

Nostradamus - His own 16th century Divine Astrology Methodology

The great prophet Nostradamus was born on December 14, 1503 in the Southern part of France in a small village called Saint Remy De Provence. The great Prophet, over 400 years ago did not use a computer and not many of the people of his time could afford or even use watches! Consequently only a minority of wealthy privileged select did record the precise times of their birth. Without any mathematical jargon, the Prophet has been very accurate in all his predictions and is still regarded nowadays as the most accurate Astrologer of all time. Contrary to what modern-day Astrologers may believe, the remarkable intuitive method used by the Seer was very simple and did not require much arithmetical work. However, 200 years later, around the 17th century, this mathematical approach to life produced a more scientific approach to the stars and an inclination toward details. This separated Astrology from Astronomy and produced astronomers who have long lost their intuition and the symbolic values of the 12 signs of the zodiac.

Many renowned Astrologers have attempted to do Nostradamus' Astrological profile and all, without exception have failed miserably in their explanations with the most important part involving the Dragon completely cast aside. This lack of knowledge is mainly due to their mathematical background and lack of cosmic consciousness. Chances are that many famous Astrologers do not have the gift of intuition at birth. The location and aspects of Mercury to Uranus or Pluto, and especially to the Dragon's Head/Tail are a serious contribution to relate or even understand the profound spiritual message involving Divine Astrology. Nostradamus inherited these great gifts and this promoted the famous French doctor toward an extraordinary cosmic consciousness. His ability to understand and use the archetypal realm of consciousness in time and space was the golden key needed to tab into the Superconscious in time and space and foresee the future. Divine Astrology, unlike modern Astrology does not require the exact time of birth (no rising sign or Ascendant is used). This eliminates also the chance of error in the interpretation of the housing system if a wrong time is given. The Seer's rare method allows people who do not have their "exact" time of birth to benefit from the interpretation of their horoscopes.
Most of all do not confuse Astrology and Astronomy. Astronomers will tell you the movement of the stars, their distance, composition and position in our solar system. That accurate information is very valuable and helps the human experience through NASA researchers to further its incredible purpose. Realize the fact that astronomy is a by-product of astrology and keep UNDER by astronomers for centuries. Astronomy deals only with the physical manifestation of our solar system. Those scientists can easily and mathematically predict the exact time of an eclipse but long time ago, these people *stole and used the Clay tablets of old astrologers. From that moment on, science challenged God's ultimate celestial purpose throughout the symbolic signs of the Zodiac and this was the beginning of mankind's loss of cosmic consciousness. The dramatic results are obvious and depressant in so many levels and especially with the children literally executing each other's in our schools. Infringing God's celestial rules brought a serious penalty to mankind and its progeny and I am trying so hard to reverse this serious error. Astropsychology is the path to God's divine language, it brings spiritual regeneration, solid direction, physical and spiritual wealth, power, and rebuild lost self-esteem. For the sake of our children, this rare wisdom and its therapeutic values must be reintegrated in our colleges and universities and accepted as a solid discipline because it is desperately needed for all the souls walking this earth.
*It has long been recognized that there is a need for a new simpler form of *astrology that would meet the requirements of the beginning student. In my introductory and advanced course I meet those needs and will in time bring forth your own *Cosmic Consciousness. Please keep in mind that like Nostradamus, I was born and raised in Provence France and that I spent last 35 years of my life re-kindling the work of the great Seer. This great Renaissance man did not have a watch or a computer and could not care less about the time of your birth and/or the mathematical jargon encountered in today mundane complicated Modern astrology. Like him I explored the Universal Mind with my telescopic inborn gifts, my gifted UCI and primary gave serious attention to the symbolic values found in each sign of the Zodiac. Looking through the great Universal Mind with a microscope and giving attention to a multitude of details such as rising, aspects etc. might make you lose the big picture I may add.
The old calendars and the spiritual astrological methods he used were in many ways very different and extremely simple. By mastering Nostradamus Divine Astrology or Astropsychology and the Cosmic Code secrets you will finally gain the golden key of what it means to be human and gain a new powerful cosmic consciousness. If you have previously learned modern astrology my work will assist or work against you. It's like playing piano, if you have developed bad habits with a bad music teacher, you will have to work harder to correct them. In any case I am fairly confident that you will still make serious progress and master my course if you persevere in you research for true knowledge. Please, keep in mind that I am not debunking modern astrology; I just spent too much time, money, and efforts for nothing over the years following that direction. Hard core, old fashioned, mathematically oriented modern astrologers, may not be able to enter the intuitional domain of Divine Astrology and should have instead pursued Astronomy. A very strong earthy Mercury (the mental power) in your 3rd house (the learning process) or a Dragon's Tail in an logical, down to earth sign may be the reason why you are stuck with numbers and why modern astrology never brought you the right answers. My words may not mean a lot to you just now but they will later once you've completed my course.
I will keep the mathematical definitions as simple as possible and in doing so I will expand on the subtle meanings of the astrological symbols. Note the software we created for Astropsychology will take care of all the complex mathematics and will be used upon graduation once you start your own career. The study of Astropsychology or Divine Astrology is a based upon straightforward and simple concepts. With patience you will in time develop a subconscious reflex and automatically absorb the meaning of the terms needed for you to master the Cosmic Code.
The whole idea of Astropsychology is to learn the basic understanding of the twelve departments of the human experience. This spiritual language can be used to categorize the psychic and psychological states of consciousness. As you precede reading the books listening and learning with the CD and DVD you will slowly will recognize that the ancients' wise astrologers were not nut case but great cosmic and philosophical geniuses. They saw us as children of the universe and knew our direct relationship with God and the cosmos. They also knew of the challenges ahead of all of us and left us with their incredible legacy. In our common search for God and the truth we will find our higher self and recognize and fully use our godly nature. We all have been made at the image of mighty God. Thus by finding our selves, our celestial gifts, and our creative potential, we will find God. Never forget that, the spark of life is in our soul as the future of mankind is based upon the reincarnation of his very thoughts. When you have found yourself, you've found God, and when you will find God, you will find yourself.
The good news is that Astrology is far from being dead; it continues to remain and flourish. It is growing and constantly gaining legions of new followers--mostly because it works! The new entourage is not just the common man in the street or your neighbor, but also involves famous people of all walks of life. Such as Presidents, kings and Queen (Lady Diana/ both French presidents Jacques Chirac, Francois Mitterant, Saddam Hussein, Hitler, The first lady and her husband, Ronald Reagan and the list goes on and on). I am also pleased to let you know that the Law Enforcement Agency and many psychologists, psychiatrists, surgeons, attorneys, MD's, clergyman, police officers and member of the government have also consulted me and have taken this very course. Not to forget famous actors and writers from all walks of life. Sad enough we are also aware some famous astrologers and psychic practitioners seriously diminish the integrity of the real science because they are in it for financial purpose only.
Workshop: What's the title? I forgot...Merc retro lol

To explain the rare mystical methodology of Nostradamus will indeed take more than the few words I can come up with. I will try my best to introduce you to his unique spiritual concept to the best of my ability without the indispensable celestial tools I need when teaching my students. Not everyone is able / allowed to enter the archetypal realm of consciousness and this is why the majority of modern astrologer tries to decipher the hidden Cosmic Code messages "manually" or operate/thinks mathematically like any grounded astronomers.

The 12 houses of the zodiac representing the 12 specific departments of the human experience are "read" not with the physical eyes but with intuition. There is no time or distance in time and space eliminating the chances of errors where "objectivity" and intuition replace logic. The rational science of astronomy needs to measure but they have forgotten that the Universe is infinite or immeasurable. Astronomy is the physical way of dealing with the stars making up our minuscule tangible solar system while spiritual astrology has no touchable limits and deal with the core of the immortal spirit itself.

Nostradamus supremely advanced UCI "Unique Celestial Identity" responded naturally to metaphors, symbols and his intuition played a very important part in the interpretations of the signs per say. Thus because we are dealing with such a refined spiritual energy my words are channeled to translate each signs of the zodiac intuitively. Nostradamus was a "channel of the light" and so Am I thus how can I put in words what has no physical consistency? While anyone interested in astrology has a basic knowledge of all the signs of the zodiac Nostradamus' teachings is in the "subatomic" interpretations. When teaching "Divine Astrology" my celestial artwork becomes the map needed to grasp and lead your intuition to uncover the hidden energy behind each and every sign in each and every houses.

Any modern astrologer (or any book on the subject) can do just that but not in this case. To make the situation even more difficult, Nostradamus used the "Power Of The natal and hidden dragons" and I am the only living Astrophile who wrote more than 500 pages of information on the subject. Building Cosmic Consciousness and a natural fast precise reflex to do the correct interpretations to "read" anyone is not an easy task. But all my students did it in less than a week and the result is their ability to be as fast, as precise as I am in reading a chart and most of all, making absolutely phenomenal accurate predictions. All that I could write about the dynamics of basic of astrology is common knowledge that will benefit the student of Astropsychology. All I am asking is to live it all outside until you can penetrate the intuitional domain of these signs and all the planets. I also understand and respect your chosen education and your many valuable
philosophies but my methodology (Nostradamus Divine Astrology) is totally unique and can only add to your own repertoire and blessed wisdom.

My fifth grade teacher wrote brainstorm on the board one day after recess as we were coming. She wrote it so it covered the entire chalkboard. We were intrigued, she had our attention. We dissected the word and came up with our meaning of the word. She then asked to all brainstorm in our writing journals about our friends. It was the first time any one ever asked me to write the words that came to my mind without restrictions or guidelines. I was free.

My first year of teaching I was hired to teach fifth grade mid-year thanks to a school levy, and worked with a great team of teachers. My first week of school, we met and they told me that in the spring, they each took a "pet unit" that they loved and taught it to all four classes in the team, and they asked what I'd like to do. I chose drama, and pulled out my Shake Hands with Shakespeare book. When we got started, I pushed all our desks into the music room, set up 8 sections of portable stage with two sets of lights, hung old drapes from the ceiling tile braces to create something that looked like it was out of an Our Gang comedy. I allowed each class to choose one of the plays to recreate, so we had four different Shakespeare plays, with vocabulary lessons for each, all the props and costumes--it was insane, but wonderful. (My SECOND year, I kept it to one play, no stage, much more manageable!) Seven years afterward, one of my students from that first class called me to tell me that she'd just gotten an A in her Senior Shakespeare class by pulling out all that we'd done during our crazy fifth grade year, and that she really hadn't learned much new from her current teacher since we'd done such a great job of it in fifth grade! I still have fond memories of that first year, and am especially thankful to a terrific principal who gave me the chance to do all that and learn on my own!

My upper elementary teacher was a true "environmentalist & Nature Lover." It was her that instilled in me a true sense of what it means to be a good steward of our Earth.
Early fall she would arrange an overnight camping trip for the class. I don't know how she did it, but there was always plenty of food, parent chaperones and memories forever. Activities included hiking and exploring with friends, sitting around the campfire roasting marshmellows and making smores, learning to use a compass and navigating a short orienteering course before being allowed to eat lunch, identification of trees, lying on the ground under a tree of choice and imagining it could talk. I still remember some of the things my classmates shared. Mrs. Nature, I will call her, always lined up a Service Learning Project along with the camping trip. Usually it involved helping the park ranger by cleaning up campsites.

Because of her and her willingness to do something so extraordinary, I have been doing the same thing with my 5th graders for 9 years. Last year I even talked my co-teachers to come along which tripled our number of students to 60. Canoeing was the activity I took charge of. What a wonderful way to teach students a lifelong love for our Earth and its fragility.

I am a crazy 5th - 12th grade Sex Education Teacher. I am passionate about sharing reproductive information, warnings about STD's, and sexual knowledge that will hopefully prevent unwanted teen pregnancies!

In my health classes, I have a "Question Jar." Students can place their sex education questions in the jar, at any time, and they do not have to put their names on them. Each week, I hold a humorous and informative "Q & A" session in class. I am able to learn what the students need to learn about through their questions. It also gives us many opportunities for "teachable moments," that I believe would not happen if students only had an opportunity to ask questions by raising their hands.

For parents, I offer classes after school to teach them sex education and how to talk to their children. I use many bright visuals, humorous role-plays, and active participation lessons to help them feel at ease. Parents feel more comfortable about talking with their child about their bodies and sex, once they have a firm grasp of the material themselves!

I also had a Mr. D. who was a tremendous influence in my life. I wonder if we had the same Mr. D. He was teaching in San Antonio, at Robert E. Lee hi in the late 60's and early 70's. Unfortunately, if it's the same man, we did not go on any trips :(. However, he was responsible for an awakening of the writer in me. As an instructor now, and former hi school teacher, I am forever in his debt for having molded, awakened, and inspired that part of me.

How I loved this man! Dr. Luster took it upon himself to begin a youth orchestra in my area when I was nine years old. I had never held a violin in my life up to the day he entered my classroom seeking interested students. From the fifth grade until my younger brother graduated high school in 1982, Dr. Luster held my love and admiration. He wasn't particularly "extreme," but he was INSPIRATIONAL! Under his tutelage, I learned to play violin, French horn, piano, percussion, and guitar. He worked tirelessly with me on my violin audition piece which won me a music scholarship to college. Even when I switched majors to English, he encouraged me to never give up playing and composing music, for, as he often said, "music is the heart's song." He's been gone now for ten years, and I still hang his picture in my office as an inspiration of what ONE person can accomplish! God bless him for opening my heart to its song!
