Hello, teaching is my passion, not my job. I keep the computers running for my city government. But I really enjoy designing, building, and flying model airplanes and water rockets. I just created a new science website; science videos and resources. http://www.scienceguy.org. Bill Kuhl

As a high school librarian I have aides. It is my job to come up with weekly lesson plans. Every day my students come into my library sit at a computer and go to my classjump.com website to access the daily task. It is free and sufficient for me.

My lessons are units. One of the units was located at the following website:
http://www.google.com/educators/p_websearch.html

I also created another website for a sewing class that I have at shutterfly.com You can have your students create their own websites here.

I hope these sites are helpful

Hi there. I am a Masters student, Home school Mommy of 4, Part-Time Child Development Trainer / Instructor, former K4 and K5 Teacher for public school (9 yrs) and a private Christian school (4 yrs). My journey after 15 yrs in education still continues. I am excited about all the new prospects out there for me and other educators. I am an encourager by nature and want to encourage others in this wonderful field. I look forward to becoming more aware of things going on around the country in education and soaking it all up to better prepare me for the next step out there~ :)

I'm a former high school librarian who is back in school to get my Ph.D. in Instructional Technology. I'm also teaching courses in technology integration to pre-service teachers and am always looking for communities of people to gather information to share with my students.

I look forward to being a part of this community!

Hi everyone,
I am both a scientist and a teacher, and I love exploring, experimenting, and sharing what I have learned. I have been involved with teaching for almost 20 years, and the bulk of this time was spent teaching at a university level. I have, however, recently become involved in developing materials for younger students and look forward to sharing and learning from others who operate in this field.

Hello everyone,
I just signed up in Edutopia and joined this "New to Edutopia" group. I have been a certified secondary ed teacher endorsed in social studies since 2004. I worked as a substitute teacher, had long term teaching positions, and a GED teaching position for about a year. None of these positions offered benefits and the pay was pretty low ($10/hour) for the substitute teaching positions, so I looked for work in a non-teaching role until I could secure a contract. Social studies positions in the schools have been cut drastically. I'm still working in administration in education - I'm an admin assistant (a secretary) for a University. I like my job; however, I'm not teaching, which is my passion. I just read another article in our neighborhood newspaper about the continued "restructuring" of our neighborhood (inner city)high school. It's a disaster. This school system has been diving since my children started attending school in the late 80's. I want to be a part of something, to do something that will shift this focus to our students, our future, which may therefore enable this huge cumbersome school district to administer to successful education. I'm hoping to find some networking/dialogue that may assist me in finding some direction to work in a role that would lead to this. There must be hundreds of school districts throughout this country that are floundering through similar disasters.
