Hello, teaching is my passion, not my job. I keep the computers running for my city government. But I really enjoy designing, building, and flying model airplanes and water rockets. I just created a new science website; science videos and resources. http://www.scienceguy.org. Bill Kuhl

Hi everyone! I am teaching in a 7/8 muli-grade classroom at a private school next year. I found this website a few weeks ago, and it is great. The concepts are how I like to teach. It is so nice to be able to find a community with such great resources. It a great place to learn from others.

Hi everyone,
I'm a third grade teacher from Northern CA. I have been teaching for 12 years, but this is my first in third. I am very excited about this site. I have a son with Asbergers Syndrome, so I already joined the Autism group! I'm looking forward to getting some great new ideas, sharing some of my own and hopefully forming some new friendships along the way.

Thanks,
Niki Swagerty

We also are doing more whole school collaboration. Any ideas on how that works for your school? Schedules? What you do with your students? It is a work in progress!

I just signed up for this group. I am surprised to find that there are no discussions for teachers of English language learners. Does anyone want to start one?

Hi. I just signed up. This site looks like it will be a wealth of information. I am a third year Computer Design teacher for 3rd-9th grade and the Yearbook Advisor for high school at a gifted education school. I teach part-time, run a full-time home-based Computer Design company and run a part-time teen Saturday night hangout, just opened in September for my kids. http://www.thewriteonecs.com and http://www.whitzend.com

I am a former teacher and principal and still passionate about kids and education--and still learning. www.geniusinchildren.org is one way I stay involved now that my community is mostly virtual. I also just got my first book out. Directed at parents the title is: "The Genius in Children: bringing out the best in your child."

Hi all. I'm a grandpa of three, a first-grader and two 4 year old twins. They live just a mile from my wife and I, and we see them very often, help them with projects, homework, etc. I'm always looking for ideas to help enhance their education.

Please see #28 on my site Improve-Education.org. It's a miscellany of ideas. You'll like some of them.

(Also, I have a lot of videos on YouTube. Some are simple--merely show letters and numbers. Try: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-Od_rU0nq4
This will also bring up many similar items by other people.)
