Veteran Teacher who became a First-time Mom at 39
Hello!
I joined Edutopia a while back but becoming a first-time Mom, a single Mom at that, has kept me quite busy. But, I love every second of it.
Having taught other people's children for eleven years, I deeply craved to become a parent myself. Don't get me wrong, I love teaching! I love my students! But, I did feel there was something missing. Until my son came along.
Now, I have the priviledge of being a parent and an educator!
I've recently begun facilitating online courses for the University of Phoenix. Not only do I love the flexibility of teaching online, I also love interacting with adults in an educational setting.
I have my doctorate in Education and, although I do not have time to partake in classes right now, I am a true life-long learner!
I am very excited to be a part of Edutopia :-)

Hi Sara. Congratulations. I
Hi Sara. Congratulations. I know the feeling of elation. I had taught high school students for 14 years before I had my son. That was 12 years ago, and he is still a joy. He has his moments, but he's 12 and boy. Truth be told, my students helped and are helping me to be a great mom. They have taught me some life-long lessons in patience and love. Enjoy... Also, I saw that you teach on line. I am interest in teaching on-line. Would you give me some pointers on how to get started?
