Hello, I'm researching a story for Edutopia magazine on Web sites that offer the best free lesson plans and educational materials. I'm looking for your further suggestions or if you can say "ay ay" to any on the list. I'm also interested in your comments about why you like to sites. Please let me know. My deadline for an initial draft of the list is Thursday, December 17. I'll be working on the story into early January. I'm looking forward to your thoughts! Thanks, Malaika
Here's another one: http://www.scribd.com/doc/55697/501-Writing-PromptsI was looking for writing prompts for middle school level and came across this site. There are literally 501 Writing Prompts! They are broken down into different writing areas (persuasive, expository, narrative), have rubrics and model essays. You can print the 181 pages (if you have the time and ink!) but I haven't found a way to download the document.
Thanks Erika! Great to see you in the Welcome Lounge. I'll check out these sites. Can you also DM me with your email address in case there's follow up questions?

My best,

Malaika

www.smetpartnership.org is a site to help rural school districts in Coloado to teach standards easier - 1) aligns curriculum; 2) does longitudinal data analysis; 3) prioritizes highest-point, highest-value critical learning targets that tend to come up year after year on the Colorado CSAP; attaches world-class resources for each priority learning target; shows examples of how a learning target may be tested; helps teachers with lesson design based on priority learning targets (Lesson design based on Michael Schmoker's book "Results Now" and on Intel Teach to the Future lesson design model)

Malaika, at findingDulcinea, we create Web Guides to the best information online on thousands of subjects. We've had Internet-savvy teachers create these guides to dozens of school subjects, and in each, they deep link to, and describe, the sites with the best lesson plans for that subject. If you click on this site search, it will take you to the lesson plans section of each guide.
