Job Opoortunity at New Tech Network
NEW TECH NETWORK
The New Tech Network (NTN), with offices in Napa, Oakland, and Cincinnati, is a national school development organization that starts and supports innovative public high schools. New Tech schools or academies are small, student-centered high schools that use engaging, project based learning supported by the seamless use and application of technology to prepare students for success in college and today’s work world. Through strategic consulting, personalized coaching, regional and national training events, and online resources, NTN provides a wide-range of professional services to help communities build thriving New Tech schools that achieve meaningful student outcomes. The Network currently has over 85 public schools in urban, rural, and suburban school districts throughout the country. New Tech Network is a subsidiary of Knowledge Works.
As New Tech Network moves into its second decade as a school development organization, we seek an accomplished educator to strengthen our support of performance-based assessments for students. We seek to change or improve assessment practices to better measure “deeper learning” on the part of each New Tech student – learning that leads to each student graduating college and career ready.
New Tech plans to increase its focus on developing and supporting the use of robust performance assessments for students in all its network schools, for developing processes that lead to graduation on the basis of portfolio evidence and/or competencies for schools that choose those paths to graduate students, and for strengthening the overall quality of projects that are developed by teachers in the New Tech Network. The School Development Assessment Specialist (a new position) will be responsible for leading work in this area, under the supervision of the Senior Director of School Design and Implementation.
