This type of program improves test scores, behavioral issues, and life readiness: iBme (search Inward Bound Mindfulness Education for our FB page, or see ibme.info) is excited to announce six mindfulness retreats for teenagers (ages 15-19) across the country this summer. We will be hosting four weeklong mindfulness retreats at residential retreat centers in: Northern California, Southern California, Washington state, and the DC Metro area. We will also be hosting two mindfulness-based wilderness retreats in the Emigrant Wilderness of Northern California and Vallecitos, New Mexico ( https://www.facebook.com/events/367876083325523/ ). See our full retreat schedule- http://ibme.info/retreats/calendar/ On the retreats, we practice formal mindfulness meditation in the morning and spend the afternoons in creative workshops - art, mindful sports, nature walks and more. We meet in twice-daily small groups to practice deep listening and authentic communication through relational mindfulness games and there's plenty of time for fun with new friends. Teens of all backgrounds are welcome on our retreats--including those new to meditation. Scholarships are available for all retreats - we have never turned a teen away for lack of funds. Here is what Ben, an iBme teen alumni, said about his retreat experience: "At this moment I feel I have learned more lessons about myself and others in the past five days than I did in the last year of school." And Camille, "It seriously changed my life. I am a much happier, more open person. I feel more connected to myself and to others... thank you for changing my life, and for giving me the tools to be happy." ~Jessica Morey, Executive Director, via Liota Weinbaum-Gongorra, admin. asst.
