The FUNDA organization is a Portland based interactive education company. We're looking for a math teacher/curriculum developer to work on our new show: The Digits. The Digits is a new kind of educational show aimed at 3rd-5th graders that teaches a math curriculum. Who are we? We're artists, developers, educators and designers who are making an awesome new thing. Some more details on it are here. And here. If you're interested in education, revolutionary entertainment, gaming and spaceships, this might be the perfect gig for you. This is a 6-month contract position that may turn into a full time opportunity. We're based in Portland Oregon and would love to find someone local, but will consider a long distance position for the right person. Most of the job will be done remotely with occasional in-person meetings. What you'll be doing: Assessing scripts, designs, and other learning documents. Developing curriculum for a math show aimed at 3rd-5th graders Creating educational updates for parents Collaborate with the core team to design and develop new products. Advising on teacher/classroom outreach. Desired skills: Familiar with the Common Core Classroom experience Familiar with late elementary children (3rd-5th grade) Self-directed for scheduling and work execution. Nice-to-haves: Experience with Youtube EDU (or digital video in the classroom) Experience/affinity for educational games both in and out of the classroom An affection for spaceships, robots, and Rock 'n Roll.
