michal oshman start up Jewish school with PBL curriculum

I am looking to connect with/ learn from educators who have experience creating a comprehensive Project Based curriculum integrating 7 broad areas of knowledge. This curriculum will be the cornerstone of a Jewish start-up school for girls in grades 7-12 which hopes to open by Fall 2013. I am looking for support in how to think about creating individual projects/ units while scaffolding knowledge/skills/understanding. Other related areas of curriculuar influence are: Understanding by Design and Teaching for Understanding.

Where will this school be located? I may have a number of contacts - are you familiar with the Wexner Foundation? They have a forum (though I think not public) for all ideas Jewish and one area is in education--there are many educators that are quite progressive. If you send your email and other info about the school, I could forward it to that forum.

I teach a 4/5 split class in Oak Harbor Washington

Thanks for your response, RO. The Binah School plans on being located in Sharon, MA which is 30 miles south of Boston. It intends on being a residential school as well. The Project Learning curriculum is being designed to integrate Judaic/Religious Studies with secular subjects, environmental/sustainability education, arts and technology, personal growth, and community leadership. A general overview of the school vision can be seen at www.binahschool.org, and direct email can be sent to thebinahschool@gmail.com.
Thanks so much.
