Hello! My name is Kristen Paino and I am a 2/3 teacher in the Bronx. I am looking for K-3 teachers to join my Community Connections Project! Teachers are always looking for ways to expose their students to other children, communities and cultures from around the world. Many schools have a similar social studies curriculum in grades K-3 where they learn about urban, suburban, and rural communities. I developed a collaborative wiki as a place where teachers and students can share information (including images, audio and video) about their communities, and in the process, learn about other communities. The more people we get to join, the more communities our students get to learn about! Please see my project description page for more info: http://mspaino.edu.glogster.com/community-connections-project/ I did this project on a much smaller scale last year with a school from Australia and another from New York. It was a wonderful learning experience for my students. If you're interested, let me know! I think it will be a great project!
