I am part of a team of educators and filmmakers creating a multi-platform media project with participants in EVERY country.

We will be providing teachers with educational toolkits including syllabi,
lesson plans, demonstrative videos, and slides; for the purpose of
guiding students through the process of shooting a 1-day documentary.
Our course materials are flexible and can be integrated as a project
into any subject, and for any length of time.

Please have a look at our website, and sign up to receive your free educational materials by going to www.101010educate.org and click on the link to sign up for Educational Toolkits.

Sounds very cool! Can you let us know how many educators you have participating so far? I'd also like to know how much involvement is required for educators to participate?

Last question :) Is there a site where we can view some sample video submissions?

Again - wonderful idea!

Thanks so much for the support. So far we have about 50 educational institutions representing over 5000 students.

Involvement can vary, but it would be possible to get involved with as little as 4 days to work on the project, but we plan to have enough course materials to fill a semester if teachers are so inclined.

You can view some of our trailers and a webcast containing work by many of our participants on our vimeo page:

But bear in mind that everything filmed for the project must be shot on October 10th 2010 - so these are just examples of other proejcts our participants have worked on.

Thanks also, to all of the people in the edutopia community that are signing up.

Thank you for posting this opportunity to collaborate in a documentary. I plan to have my journalism students film one day in the life of Rocksprings, TX (pop. 1293) from sunrise to sunset.

Hi everyone, we're making serious progress with the toolkits, and interested parties can expect to see a sample within the next few weeks. In the meantime, please enjoy our latest One Day on Earth webcast:

Hi everyone. Thank's so much to all of you who have signed up to participate in One Day on Earth with your classes.

It occurred to me that many of you in the Edutopia community may be heading to conferences this summer, and we would love to be able to get information about our project to attending educators.

If anyone has recommendations of conferences that may be receptive to One Day on Earth (or room in their suitcase for some One Day on Earth flyers) I'd love to hear from you.
