I am working on a project for UW-Extension. My task is to find assessment tools and resources online for teachers to use. If you have suggestions for sites, please let me know. I would also appreciate knowing what you are looking for so I can find what you need.

I'm looking for formative assessments, Special Education PreK-2, in math and reading.

It would be great to hear from other primary lab teachers.

I am a K-6th Spanish teacher looking for performance assessments that measure oral language proficiency and listening skills. A majority of my students reflect beginning proficiency levels. Is anyone familiar with resources for this population of learners or actual instruments that I can utilize? Thanks in advance for your help!

We at testbag.com have created (and are creating on continuous basis) a knowledge pool for driving generic assessment systems for grade IXth to XIIth, graduation and post graduation which is easier to administer and effective way for Continuous and Comprehensive Assessment. Each learner uses Assessment For Learning (Formative Assessment) at own pace without fear of comparison or grading thus self constructing knowledge with own creativity without being limited to extent of instructor's knowledge and also taking advantages of instructor's knowledge in instructor led /subject matter expert or pattern directed Assessment of Learning (Summative Assessments) for benchmarking.

Key Features

TestBag.com has formative assessment (assessment for learning) system named as Self Assessor, has facilities to enable user to simulate instructor directed or self tests on subjects, topics and key concepts from a large knowledge pool randomly based on select parameters such as question types, level of questions for each grade, number of questions, time and marks. Tests are simulated instantaneously and results are published immediately after completing the tests detailing answer given and correct answers of each attempted questions

Test Bag also has a summative assessment (assessment of learning) system named Test Simulator, has facility to create and simulate mock tests/ old papers and test patterns for all major exams as well exams on subjects taught in a predetermined period. These tests are based on previous year patterns specific to each exam or are created by subject matter experts. Mock tests and Old tests have fixed of questions but test pattern generate new tests every time by drawing questions from large knowledge pool based parameters such as question number, types, topics included, level of questions, marks and time. All tests simulate exam like environment and first hand experience helps user to put many unfounded fears to rest.

TestBag also has a system on Test Analytics and Test History to store details previous tests taken for each user to enable the user to benchmark performance, monitor progress and discuss shortcoming with teachers/mentors

We are looking forward to teachers to use this system and help us improve further by valuable comments. The access to system is free but with limited test simulations in a day. You can mail us for increasing test simulations frequency as well as creating specific knowledge pools for formative assessments/ specific test patterns for summative assessments required at your end. We shall endeavor to create the same.

regards,
TestBag Team

Thanks for all the assessment ideas, but did anyone answer the question about assessing oral language skills? We have been trying to do this for two years wanted to make the connection between integrating drama strategies and improving oral language skills. Any ideas on that? Thanks!

I just went to Rubistar and created a great rubric for oral language assessment. Thank you! Just what I needed. Susana

I am a teacher/inventor. I invented a hand held dry erase Paddle that has every student raising their hand. Our Pilot schools in Santa Rosa, Ca are seeing a rise in test scores and a savings in paper. They are great for quick assessment and every paddle comes with a low odor/non toxic marker with eraser- Easy to pass out and evaluate whether the students "get" the lesson- without having to grade papers. I have a passion for education and wanted tools that would make a difference and last for more than a year. If anyone would like a sample-I would be happy to send you some. julia@kleenslate.com or http://www.kleenslate.com to read more about my journey. We are happy to donated to underprivileged schools and want to help turn the classroom into a more interactive environment that gives every child a voice.
