Assessment Resources for Teachers

Sharon Ellner

I am working on a project for UW-Extension. My task is to find assessment tools and resources online for teachers to use. If you have suggestions for sites, please let me know. I would also appreciate knowing what you are looking for so I can find what you need.

Hello,

I am a student in the Master in Special Education program and I need to assess a child using one of the following instruments (WJ-III, KTEA, PIAT, and WRAT). The libraries at the universities in my area either do not have them or they have been loaned out and not returned. I will be grateful for any version of the instruments. Thank you for your cosideration and help.

Sincerely,

Robert

Thanks for all these great links. Here in Mass. we use an Alternate Assessment piece that is submitted to the state for evaluation. The links will help me with this process.

I use Google Documents to create a "form" where I create multiple choice, short answer, or essay questions to assess reading comprehension or vocabulary. I am a Science teacher so I usually have a short quiz after an assignment and students go to my website (Google Sites) where they can submit their answers online. It gives immediate feedback because all answers are automatically put into a spreadsheet where responses can be graded or used as formative assessment.

How about any online portforlio assessment sites? We use a processfolio approach and are looking for ways to collect and store their portfolio so that parents can take a look and students and teachers can make additions.

I just tried Rubistar for the first time. Easy-to-learn, easy-to-use, worthwhile. Thanks.
