Art in Middle School Science Classroom?

Kristen Middle school science teacher

As a teacher of a few subjects in a small middle school, I am responsible for teaching Art to 7th graders once a week. I am also the science and language arts teacher. I have no training in art (and I am not artistically-minded), and I am having trouble coming up with resources and/or ideas. A good book/guide would be ideal for me. Can anyone help?? Thanks!

The Isamu Noguchi Museum is a great resource for Science and Art...
It's actually something the head of Education is really big on...

Here is a program they are running for k-5 but its worth talking to them:
Cultivating Curiosity: The Role of Questioning in Art and Science

Join colleagues and experts in the realm of art and science in exploring the roles that questioning and curiosity play in the elementary school classroom. Through action research at school, as well as facilitated gallery experiences, a moderated panel discussion, and hands-on workshops at The Noguchi Museum, teachers will develop, practice and reflect on inquiry-based strategies for cultivating intrinsic interest and student questioning.

This program is offered to NYC public school educators of grades K-5 only. Registration is limited to 15 participants.
