Graphis Magazine -- The Best...
Dear Artists and Arts Educators,
In doing some current research for developing a HS STEM curriculum,
I happened to come upon an old favorite of mine: Graphis Magazine --
"The Best of the Visual Communications" and they ain't lyin'...
I grew up viewing their very expensive journals/magazines in university libraries, because nobody I knew could afford a subscription to these large format heavyweight coffee-table treasures of contemporary commercial visual graphics arts...
It was pure joy for a kid who likes to draw...
That is how I discovered Push Pin Studios and Milton Glaser and
Seymour Chwast...
The rest is history... :-)
I confess: I am an artist...
I was happily surprised that they are online: alive and still kickin
knock-you-down graphix...
check out the "Porfolios" section for a Matt W. Moore illustration
that is a colorful joy to warm any winter day... or glum mood...
and that is a picture I just "saved as" to teach HS Geometry... :-)
Art is Life and Life is Art...
Happy Zappy New Year,
Allen Berg
