Strategies for high student turnover/churn
What do you all do to help ameliorate your high student turnover? Some states include those students in your AYP if they are in your school by a certain date. How do you get them up to speed? How do you assess new students? How do you welcome new students?
I am looking for ideas at the elementary level.
What about having an induction team? The team would welcome, assess, and remediate during the new student's first days (full-day, part-day, ???).
Any thoughts you have would be great.
